Changelog

What's new in each version of gitpanda.

Update with gitpanda upgrade. Every release from 2.3.0 on is kept at https://gitpanda.ai/releases/gitpanda-<version>.mjs.

3.1.1#

  • The repository's AI features now stop when the company is paused or its AI budget is used up, and say so, instead of running past the budget. Search, history, diffs and contributors keep working.
  • Search results show on one tidy line.
  • The health score weighs issues more gently (a contradiction costs 8 points).

3.1.0#

Easier than GitHub, and things GitHub can't do. See GitPanda vs GitHub and A team inside your repository.

  • Just say it: gitpanda "make the launch plan lead with the price" turns plain words into the right command, shows it, and asks before changing anything. Mistyped commands get "Did you mean".
  • save and get: save and send everything, or get the latest, in one word.
  • check: contradictions between documents, stale and empty docs, broken links, rooms with no docs, and a score. check --fix hands each issue to the room that owns it.
  • request: ask for a change and the owning room makes it, saved in place as a new version.
  • why: every version with the goal and task behind it.
  • now: who's working on what; status shows it too.
  • On the web: a live strip of who's working, a 🩺 Health tab, and 🕘 Why and ✋ Request a change on every document.

3.0.0#

AI in your repository. See AI in your repository.

  • gitpanda ask "question": the repository answers, citing its files. (ask <room> "…" still asks a room.)
  • gitpanda search: full-text search with matching lines.
  • AI commit messages: gitpanda commit without -m, and sync without -m.
  • gitpanda review, and push --review: an AI review against the company's other documents.
  • gitpanda edit <file> "change": describe it, see the diff, keep it or edit --undo.
  • gitpanda explain <file>, gitpanda recap [--days], gitpanda contributors.
  • On the web: Ask or search, ✨ Explain, Contributors and ✨ Recap on every repository page.

2.3.0#

  • gitpanda.ai: the home of gitpanda, with full documentation and a one-line installer (curl -fsSL https://gitpanda.ai/install.sh | sh).
  • Downloads and update checks come from gitpanda.ai, falling back to okaypanda.com.
  • help and error messages link to the docs.
  • Pin a version with GITPANDA_VERSION in the installer.

2.2.0#

  • More color and room to breathe: brand-orange titles, colored commands and links, labeled rows in repos and info, and the one-time sign-in code in a box.
  • A friendlier "signed out" state when a key has been revoked.
  • FORCE_COLOR for previews and logs.

2.1.0#

  • Browser sign-in, like gh auth login: approve in OkayPanda, no key to copy. Connect several companies at once. login --key still works.
  • repos: every panda repo with its web and app links, local clones and your role.
  • use, info, and plain gitpanda as a front door.
  • Version checks and upgrade.

2.0.0#

  • Works like git: status, diff, add, reset, restore, commit -m / -am, push, pull, fetch, log, show, branch, remote, and sync for all of it at once.
  • Commit messages appear in the company's history.
  • The panda prompt: gitpanda shell --install.
  • The panda banner.

1.0.0#

  • The first command line: clone, pull, status, push for documents; rooms, ask, goal --watch, goals, show, say, files, approvals, approve, decline; and code for pull requests. API keys.
